That means higher pressure per segment, which is exactly what you want on hard, cured concrete, granite, and natural stone where a wider contact patch would just skate and glaze. The SR100 is your tool for leveling high spots, chasing down trip hazards, and grinding hard surfaces where a more aggressive wheel would load up. Double Row (DR100) — fast, aggressive stock removal
Add a second ring of segments and you double the number of cutting points touching the surface. Match the wheel size to your grinder — and mind the RPM
Cup wheels are rated for a maximum safe RPM, and that rating is tied to diameter. A larger wheel has a higher peripheral (rim) speed at the same RPM, so a 7" wheel must never be run on a grinder spinning fast enough for a 4.5". Always confirm the wheel's stamped max RPM is equal to or greater than your grinder's no-load speed. A few field rules that save wheels and knuckles:
- Let the wheel do the work. Excess downforce does not grind faster — it overheats the bond, glazes the diamonds, and can crack the segments.
- Keep it moving. Grind in overlapping passes rather than dwelling in one spot, which causes gouging and uneven wear.
- Angle matters. Tip the cup 5–10 degrees into the surface for stock removal; lay it flatter for a smoother blend.
- Control the dust. Concrete grinding releases respirable silica — run a shroud and vacuum, or wet-grind where the wheel allows, and always wear proper respiratory protection.

Buying the aggressive wheel for every task feels efficient, but it costs you twice: a double row on a hard-troweled slab glazes early and leaves a surface you then have to re-grind.
